Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The stats of an item can be enhanced by upgrading it, also referred to as "upping". Each upgrade increment boosts the stats linearly.
Players can recycle six items at once to get a gauge of the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling an item increases with its rarity and level.
Upgrade components
A level upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the power of your weapon and armor. This can be achieved through various methods such as using upgrade components and upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. Additionally, many items can be reforged, which could boost their stats even more.
You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available throughout the world as well as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. The most common method of upgrading equipment is through the use of upgrade components, which are components that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment has slots that can be upgraded, and many require a specific level of upgrade. Some upgrade components give specific bonuses, while others offer general bonuses.
There are a variety of upgrade components available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments can be put in any kind of equipment and offer less bonuses than those that are type specific. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools and provide numerous bonuses, from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to supplying additional crafting materials.
Select the item in your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right hand side of the screen. It will display the expected stats following the upgrade. If you don't possess enough of either the two, the Upgrade button will show as Blocked.
The number of upgrade components required for a particular item can be seen in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of upgrading increases with the upgrade level and rarity, but it can be reduced through a variety of methods, such as buying upgrades at a merchant or trading them to other players.
Many weapons can be improved by adding a prefix, such as a rune or an insignia, and others can be enhanced by adding a suffix. These upgrades include an adjective in the name of the item like "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs are a way to communicate visual information. They are animated to grab the attention of the viewers and trigger interest in the brain. item upgrades of glyphs mimics body language, making them even more effective in conveying messages across language barriers. Glyphs can also enhance the likelihood of remembering messages by creating an experience of familiarity in the brain.
Each glyph can increase the value of a stat by certain amount. This is clearly displayed on the item's page when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This range is not the exact amount at the glyph can increase the stat, but rather the maximum amount by which it can increase a stat. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and quality of the item you are creating it for.
Most upgrade components inserted into items cannot be repaired or replaced without dismantling the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have an unusable rune or glyph that has not yet been incorporated into your gear, you can move it to a different piece of equipment by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.
If you wish to remove a glyph from a piece of you must salvage it using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item where the glyph is installed will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be recovered by removing the glyph fragments.
When you remove an item after adding a glyph the shards of that glyph will disappear. You can also put a glyph on your equipment to make it more valuable. For instance the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and distribute it slowly rather than all at once. This is beneficial for players who take a lot of damage from enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to change the affixes that are placed on weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from various sources, such as mystery boxes, rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player a random affix that is generally better than the one they had before. Reroll tokens can also be a good method to reroll the stats of a weapon that can be upgraded for better damage or additional perks.
Items that have been rerolled do not appear in the item upgrade menu, however, they can still receive upgrades. By pressing the "upgrade button", you can recycle these rerolled items. This will change the appearance of the window for the item and let up to six items to be chosen for recycling. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. The amount is by the rarity of the item and its level. Therefore, higher-leveled items are more valuable for recycling than items with lower levels.
Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits to upgrade units. Rerolls will roll a % chance for a weapon's trait. If it rolls higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower the weapon is left as it was. Weapons can be upgraded up to 3 times.
A reroll is a good option to upgrade an item, but users should be aware that it can lower the overall ilvl of the weapon due to the number of rerolls needed to increase the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This is evident on Diadems and Rings, as they have no other options to increase the ilvl.

The reroll system has been criticized by players for being too expensive, and it would be more reasonable to let players pay for it in the form of money or food items that allows players to modify their build without wasting time and energy. The developers aren't planning to offer paid rerolls in this stage of the game's development. Instead, they plan to add an option to change the race in the near future.
Leveling
There are many ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade, which increases the value of an upgrade for the stat. The alternative is to increase the effect of the upgrade, which can increase damage or healing for a stat. In addition there is the possibility to upgrade the base item to a higher upgrade type. Once this is done the new item will keep its iLevel, but will benefit from the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.
It is crucial to remember that upgrades are not guaranteed. In most cases a better roll is based on the glyphs. However there are occasions when a more or unique roll may occur. Additionally the iLevel of an upgrade will be determined by the type of item and if you upgrade a rare or unique item to an exceptional item type you could gain an increased iLevel.
Upgrades can be expensive, especially if you are upgrading gear from the standard track to legendary. The cost of upgrading a piece of equipment will depend on the base iLevel and the number of levels to upgrade. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests in order to get to the next upgrade level.
If you're lucky the upgraded item will reach the maximum level of its upgrade track and unlock an additional bonus effect. This will provide a significant increase in the value of the item. The bonus effect is different with each upgrade level. In general the effect of upgrading is increased by a value of +3.
The iLevel can also change in accordance with the item's upgrade path and base level. For example the weapon that has been upgraded from a rare or unique item to a rare or exceptional item will have a chance to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base type of item.
